Drogheda based energy company, Flogas has struck gold in the Best Customer Innovation category of the 2021 National Consumer Awards for its Green Future Carbon Neutral Gas product.
took home gold in the at the Bonkers.ie National Consumer Awards for 2021, Speaking after the awards, which were broadcast online on last Thursday 25th February, Flogas Energy general manager, Paul Kenny, said, “Flogas Green Future Gas is the only 100% carbon neutral natural gas offering for homes in Ireland.
“We’re extremely proud that our sustainable energy solution has been recognised as the ‘gold standard’ in customer innovation this year. I also want to congratulate the team at Bonkers.ie on their very impressive virtual awards ceremony and we hope to be back next year in person.”
The Awards celebrate companies providing exceptional value and service to customers in Ireland. The independent judging panel is chaired by broadcaster, entrepreneur and former ‘dragon’ Bobby Kerr. The Best Customer Innovation category, won by Flogas this year, highlights an innovative product, service or process that has solved a real problem for its customers.

According to the judges, ‘Flogas came up against some tough competition but won the Award for an important environmental innovation that offers a sustainable energy alternative for its customers, impressively achieved at no additional cost.”
Flogas partners with South Pole, a global leader in sustainability solutions to ensure that 100% of the natural gas on Flogas Green Future Gas or Dual fuel price plans are carbon offset through audited carbon reduction projects in developing countries. The projects in which Flogas invests adhere to the internationally recognised Gold standards and the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) criteria.
Flogas also offers green electricity to customers, as 100% of the electricity supplied to all Flogas customers is sourced from renewable generation, in accordance with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities Green Source Product Verification process.
