Organisers hoping to pass the €500K raised for charity in eight years of event

Yeehaa! It’ll be stetsons and cowboy boots all the way on Saturday July 20th when Country and Western fans will get the chance to enjoy a fabulous line up of entertainment at the Kilmoon Barn Dance.

Taking to the stage in Cushinstown Athletic Club will be one of the most popular folk bands currently playing all over Ireland and The UK "All Folk'd Up" followed by the Garth Brooks Tribute "Trevor Smith & Friends In Low Places -The Ultimate Garth Brooks Experience. Always a crowd favourite DJ Mark Fallon will take revellers into the early hours.

Now firmly established on the summer calendar as one of those great nights not to be missed over 2,500 guys and gals flock to the event every year from all the surrounding communities who so hugely support it with Cancer Research and local charities the beneficiary of everything raised on the night. Indeed people travel from all over the Northeast and beyond to enjoy this great night. 

Organised by the Fox and Kerins families the previous seven Barndances have between them raised an incredible €464,000 for charities including Oesophageal Cancer, Drogheda Homeless Aid, NECRET who support the Cancer Unit in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, SOSAD, Meath River Rescue, Meath Hospice and the Laffey Trust.  The organisers are hoping to push this figure way over the half million this year.

This year NECRET and the Northeast Oncology and Haematology Unit in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital are again deeply appreciative to the organisers who will dedicate net two-thirds of ticket sales towards their core mission of improving the treatment and outcomes of people with cancer.

Spearheaded by one of Ireland’s leading Oncologists, Professor Bryan Hennessy, who looks after the care of patients attending from counties Cavan, Louth, Meath, Monaghan and North County Dublin conducting and contributing to much needed clinical cancer research into new treatment methodologies is a critical part.

Tickets cost just €25 each which is an amazing price for seven hours of continuous music with free food for the night. They are expected to sell out fast though so get yours ASAP.
