Gardaí have this morning, Monday 15th April 2019, arrested four men in connection with the shooting incident that took place on Tuesday the 26th February 2019 at the M1 retail park in Drogheda in a man in his thirties was seriously injured.
The shooting, which took place in broad daylight and in front of shoppers was one of the most shocking events in the ongoing feud between drug gangs and resulted in many calls for an increase in Garda resources in the Drogheda area.
One man was shot and seriously injured in the incident as he and two or three colleagues got into their car at the retail park. He was driven to Our lady of Lourdes Hospital by a colleague and received treatment for his life threatening injuries.
The four men arrested this morning are aged 23yrs, 23yrs, 27yrs and 49yrs, they are being detained at Drogheda and Dundalk Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 50 – Criminal Justice Act 2007. This brings the number of people arrested in the investigation this week to seven.

A number of premises were also searched in Drogheda this morning in connection with this investigation.
