John Rooney, the Managing Director of Flogas.
There was good news for the Drogheda based company Flogas today, they have signed a deal to acquire all of Just Energy’s business in Ireland which runs to some 10,000 residential and commercial customers, by the end of December 2019.
There will be no impact on supply to the circa 10,000 Just Energy Ireland residential and commercial customers during the transfer period. Once CRU approval is received, all Just Energy Ireland customers will receive communications from Flogas about their accounts.
John Rooney, the Managing Director of Flogas, said "We're very pleased to welcome Just Energy Ireland customers to Flogas. We're working closely together to ensure a smooth transfer of operations and our priority is to ensure that our new customers continue to receive a great standard of service. To support this, we are investing heavily in new IT, CRM and ERP systems, and actively recruiting to boost resources in sales, marketing, energy trading and risk management."
The announcement follows the decision of Just Energy to exit the Irish market following an evaluation of its operations here.

Scott Gahn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Just Energy said, "The sale of Just Energy's business in Ireland further supports the Company's strategy to realign our geographic footprint and continue to unlock additional value for our shareholders. Flogas is a premier energy provider that will continue to provide the quality of service that our customers in Ireland have come to expect."
An Irish owned company, Flogas has been operating in the retail energy market since 1978 and already supplies natural gas and electricity to over 35,000 residential and commercial customers in Ireland.
On transfer to Flogas, some individual tariff details may change but Flogas is assuring customers that their annual estimated bill should not increase. Flogas has purchased carbon offsets equivalent to the carbon generated from the supply of electricity to Just Energy customers, so their electricity supplied by Flogas will be carbon neutral.
For more information, Just Energy Ireland customers can visit www.justenergy.ie/Flogas. For any queries before the transfer, contact Just Energy as usual. Following the official transfer date, which will be advised to Just Energy Ireland customers, contact the Flogas Customer Support Team in Drogheda on 041 9874 874.
