The first timber frame kits have been erected at Bakery View, Louth County Council's Accelerated Delivery Programme (ADP) social housing development on Ballymakenny Road, Drogheda.

This 97-unit scheme includes a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses and bungalows, designed to deliver high-quality homes and foster a sustainable community.

The project is part of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage’s Accelerated Delivery Programme, using innovative construction methods to fast-track delivery.

Works began in February, led by OHMG (Ire) Ltd, with IJM Timber Engineering supplying the timber frames.

In December 2024, Louth County Council received funding approval for four projects under the Social Housing Capital Investment Programme (SHCIP).

These schemes form part of the Government’s ‘Housing for All’ plan, with the projects set to deliver the most significant number of local authority direct-build social housing units in County Louth in recent years.

The successful contractors, OHMG (Ire) Ltd , were appointed through a regional framework for Design and Build (D&B) contractors.
