Ace AC athlete Eimear Cooney is beginning to make winning National titles look easy!
Last week she was crowned under 18 national 3,000m champion and on Saturday she made it a double by becoming the national under 18 1500M champion with a remarkable performance in Tullamore.
Eimear started the race well and was second throughout making her break with only 120m to go, taking the lead to win her second national title in 7 days. She had previously won the 3000m title a week earlier. What an achievement for Eimear and for Ace AC.

Sholah Lawrence, Chloe Cooney, Rhys Clarke and Stevie Wong also ran in the National finals all performing reasonably well, however were all outside of the medal positions on the day, in what is the highest level of Youth Athletics in Ireland.
Stevie Wong secured a brilliant new 200m PB of 22.78 and Rhys Clarke secured a new 1500m PB of 4.31.69
