Drogheda’s Mitzy to represent Louth in Nose of Tralee Competition

Front Page

Top dog Mitzy - chosen to represent County Louth in this year’s Nose of Tralee Competition.

Last November Drogheda Life broke the exclusive story of Monte the toy poodle belonging to Drogheda sisters Lydia and Michaela Stowe who was crowned Ireland’s Top Madra!

Well now it’s time to meet Monte’s mother Mitzy (above) who has just been chosen to represent County Louth in this year’s Nose of Tralee Competition.  Who says grrreatness doesn't run in families?

Mitzy is a cute three year old who was born and raised in Drogheda, she is extremely clever and, according to her Mam Lydia, she just loves learning new tricks.

“She also loves being groomed and styled into her latest style Asian Fusion!” Lydia says. “Mitzy adores food and will do anything for those special treats."

Here is Mitzy’s bio (in her own words):

Woof! Woof! Let me introduce myself... I'm Mitzy, a three year old toy poodle and a typical Irish red haired beauty! I love getting my hair done, dressing up and going out on the town! (Who doesn't like to show off when they feel like a million little doggy treats). .”  If you see me, come and say Hi! Promise I won't bite and my fur is as soft as a cloud.

“Not to bite my own tail or anything but I’m smart, like really smart!! I learn commands really quickly and I love doing them (as long as you have treats for rewards!) I can also walk anywhere with my mammy without needing a lead! I used to get distracted easily but now I can do it all by myself. (Woof woof! I'm a big girl now!)

“I’m super affectionate too! I love to lay my head on your lap, give kisses, and snuggle next to you on the couch when allowed.

“Sometimes though I can be quite shy with people I don't know. Going out in the big bad world is pretty scary when you’re a little teeny toy poodle. Good job I have my family around though, they say love is a four legged word and I think they hit it on the tail!”

Voting is open until August the 27th, both Lydia and Mitzy would really love if you could vote for Mitzy which you can do by clicking on this link:
