Drogheda VTOS learners presented with their certificates

VTOS learners who completed VTOS QQI courses are pictured with LMETB teachers and staff after receiving their certificates.

Learners, along with their families, friends, and staff from the Louth and Meath Education and Training Board’s (LMETB) VTOS Drogheda programme, gathered at the FET Centre on King Street, Drogheda recently, to celebrate their accomplishments over the past year.

Certificates of attendance were awarded to learners from various QQI courses, including Improve Your English and Get Job Ready, Employment Skills with IT, and Office Ready Employment Skills.

Some learners plan to return to the centre in autumn 2024 to begin their second year on the VTOS programme. Others have applied to further education and training programmes, while some have successfully secured employment.

VTOS is a free, full-time education programme for adults over 21 years of age, who are in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment.

LMETB has 3 VTOS Centres, In Dundalk, Drogheda and Navan. All courses are advertised on  The courses offered in each centre can differ but below are examples of those available:

  • Improve your English and Get Job Ready QQI Level 3
  • Employment and IT Skills QQI level 4
  • Business and Employment Skills with ICDL QQI Level 4
  • Improve your English QQI Level 4
  • Leaving Certificate for Adult Learners
  • Introduction to Coding, Cyber-Security and Web Development QQI Level 5
  • eBusiness and Information Technologies QQI Level 5
