Mayor of Drogheda Frank Godfrey who has nominated 22 people for Mayoral Awards.
The Mayor of the Borough District of Drogheda, Councillor Frank Godfrey, will confer Mayoral Awards on 22 people at a ceremony to be held in Highlanes Gallery on Thursday 24th January.
The 22 deserving individuals who have contributed to the Drogheda community in different ways over the years, have been selected by Mayor Frank Godfrey, who himself instigated the Drogheda Mayoral Awards some 30 years ago!
The nominees come from all walks of life, and represent involvement in many different voluntary, community and business sectors. They will each receive a framed certificate from the Mayor, citing their particular contribution at the ceremony.
“I am very proud of all these unsung heroes and what they have done for the town” Mayor Godfrey said. “It’s heartening to see that people are still willing to give their time and expertise to community initiatives on a voluntary basis,’ said Mayor Godfrey.
