Drogheda Male Voice Choir's unique Covid tribute

Front Page

Members of the Drogheda Male Voice Choir at Millmount for the recording of their Covid-19 tribute video.

The members of Drogheda Male Voice Choir have come up with a novel initiative to pay tribute to the Frontline Services and also to the people of Drogheda who have endured the long days of Covid-19 restrictions with such fortitude.

They assembled at various signification locations in the town (whilst social distancing) that ended up on Millmount Tower with representatives of all the Frontline Services  to record a filmed tribute to them in choral harmony.

Planned with meticulous detail by Producer, Tom Carolan and Co – Producer, Eamon Duffy, from and spawned by Drogheda Male Voice Choir chairman, Tommy Finnegan, the project became a reality.

Whilst their chosen tribute song, may be associated with a prominent Premier League soccer club as its anthem, it was considered very appropriate to honour our frontline staff along with the tolerance, resilience and discipline shown of the people of Drogheda throughout this ongoing Pandemic.

The results of everybody’s efforts in putting this project together will be put out on “General Release” when a spectacular filmed recording which will “Premiere” on the Drogheda Male Voice Choir Facebook page on Friday night at 8pm.

There has already been a private showing, exclusive to the choir members themselves, and indications are that it met with great approval and is considered one of their finest achievements.

So now we await the public showing with great anticipation.
