Drogheda Life has partnered with Drogheda Lions Club to raise funds for the hundreds of families in Drogheda who are struggling to cope this Christmas - even more than ever.
Normally Drogheda Lions Club members collect donations of food from generous members of the public in Dunnes Stores and other shops around the town but due to Covid -19 restrictions, Drogheda Lions have reluctantly taken the decision that the public food collections cannot take place.
Covid has taken its toll on everyone in some shape or form but, as is usually the case, it has affected the most impoverished and vulnerable members of our society more severely than any other group.
"There is a greater than ever need in our community for food and other support this year" said Drogheda Lions Club President, Dónal Browning.

"We are appealing to the public to donate as much as they can online so that we can help make Christmas 2021 a happy one for families who are at their wits end trying to cope."
"We all want the best for our loved ones, especially our children, at Christmas and, with your help, we can make that a reality for everyone. Please donate what you can."
If you prefer it, donations can also be made directly to the Drogheda Lions Club bank account at Bank of Ireland, Laurence Street, Drogheda. The account name is Drogheda Lions Club Services and the account number is 22437553.
All financial donations received, whether online or via deposits are recorded and receipts will be issued.
Drogheda Lions will support local businesses with funds donated including Love Drogheda for Gift cards. Most of the proceeds of the food appeal will be distributed by the Drogheda and East Meath Vincent de Paul to those most in need in our community.
All of the members of Drogheda Lions Club operate in a voluntary capacity and take no fees or expenses for their work.
We hope you can help to continue with Drogheda's proud record in supporting the Lions Annual Christmas Food Appeal.
Finally, all Donors will be entered into a Free Draw to win one of five autographed copies of the latest book from Drogheda’s legendary photographer. Jimmy Weldon "Jimmy’s Times as a Photographer."
