Drogheda history Walk ’n’ Talk

Drogheda Community Historian, Brendan Matthews will present a `Walk n Talk` on Wednesday next, August 12th beginning at St. Laurence Gate at 7.30pm.

From Laurence Gate, the Walk n Talk will move up Francis Street where Brendan will speak about significant historical events and periods of the past before stopping and speaking outside the old Drogheda Jail at Scarlett Street.

The `Walk n Talk` will then proceed through Sundays Gate/Magdalene Tower, where the history and archaeology of the surrounding area will be relayed.

Brendan will then lead the Walk down Magdalene Street, reflecting on the daring and exciting Fenian tales of Drogheda in the 1860`s and the evening will terminate outside St. Peter`s Church of Ireland at the top of Peter`s Street where Brendan will speak about the history and heritage of some of the streets and lanes of central Drogheda.

There is no charge for this event but donations will be gratefully received and all are welcome to attend.
