Drogheda Credit Union urges members to use on line banking wherever possible

Front Page

Drogheda Credit Union, with branches in Drogheda, East Meath, Trim and Dunleer, has issued the following message to its members:

Drogheda Credit Union like all businesses during this difficult time are doing their upmost to protect staff and members. Over the years Drogheda Credit Union has always had their members at the forefront and while we face difficult times that ethos has not changed. In order to do this they have put in place some measures to continue to serve the community through the Coronavirus Crisis.

Please note that they now have staff working remotely, working on a rotating basis and also working in branch. Due to the relocation of many staff please be patient if you are experiencing a long wait time in the branch or on the phone.

Tom Kiely, Drogheda CEO’s main message to members is, “During this time we would ask members where possible not to come into a branch.  Nearly 90% of our services can be done online via online banking or our credit union app. If you can’t avail of online banking then please ring us on 041 9838 496.”

Members who have registered for online banking can:

  • Pay bills
  • Setup payees and internal transfers
  • Apply for a loan

Tom also paid homage to all the Credit Union staff who were remaining calm under pressure, especially our member facing staff who are going above and beyond in these extreme times.  Like most business Drogheda Credit Union has had to make a few changes in order to continue to offer their members their high level of service.  These changes are as follows:

  • The Loans Branch located in Laurence Shopping centre Drogheda is closed until further notice (social distancing is not possible in this branch)
  • All branches will close from 1-2pm to facilitate lunch breaks until further notice
  • For the first hour of opening, in all our branches our older and more vulnerable members will get priority in the queue. We would ask our other members to please where possible to come into a branch after the first hour.
  • All branches will close at 5pm on a Friday as opposed to the usual time of 7pm
  • Please use ONLINE BANKINGas much as possible. If you are not registered for online use you can set it up on
  • If you need to make a payment please do it online within the “services” section of the website or call to make a payment on 041 9838496
  • You can also download our app from your app store
  • To access your savings you may like to consider opening a Current Account which can also be set up via online banking
  • If you need to speak to a member of Credit Control please ring 041 9838496 to discuss your options

Drogheda Credit Union would like to thank their members and staff for their assistance and would like to assure the public that they will continue to offer the same reliable service to their members as they have done for over 50 years.
