Local business, LHK Group, better known locally perhaps as “Kelleher Insurance”, have won the Professional and Business Services category at the 2023 National Family Business Awards.

LHK is one of the few remaining independently owned insurance and financial planning brokers in Ireland and is proud of its heritage as a third generation, family-owned business, originating in Drogheda. 

Kelleher Insurance was established in 1938 by the grandfather of Colm Kelleher, the current Managing Director of LHK Group, with the Trinity Street Drogheda branch established in 1970.

Following a number of acquisitions over the past decade, the business rebranded from MJ Kelleher and Sons to LHK Group in 2020 to better reflect the legacy of some of the acquired businesses, whilst retaining the connection to the local economy and business community in Drogheda.

This family-owned business was chosen as the winner of the Professional and Business Services category at the 2023 Family Business Awards which recognise the outstanding achievements of family-owned businesses in Ireland throughout all sectors and industries.
