Drogheda Classical Music series finale taking place online

It had been scheduled for Thursday 12 March, pianist Finghin Collins, always a favourite with Drogheda audiences, and a quintet of Irish and international musicians would perform a concert in St. Peter’s Church.

It was supposed to be an exciting finale to the successful 2019/20 Drogheda Classical Music series but sadly, the concert had to be cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Not to be outdone however, the organisers have decided to video Finghin and his fellow musicians playing at St. Peter’s in the next couple of days, without an audience, and make it available to watch online for just €10.

“This is a great way to not just enjoy a concert from the comfort of your home but also as a means to support a local arts organisation at this difficult time” said organiser Pauline Ashwood.

You can watch it from the comfort of your own home from Sunday Jun 28th at 7.30pm via Vimeo on Demand. You can rent and stream the concert for a limited period of 72 hours.

This concert features pianist Finghin Collins with an ensemble of distinguished wind players, Matthew Manning oboe, Macdara Ó Seireadáin clarinet, Sinéad Frost bassoon and Cormac Ó hAodáin French horn.

Here’s a beautiful trailer to whet the appetite:
