Drogheda & District Chamber has been awarded the Best Membership Initiative Award at the Chamber Awards 2021.
The awards, hosted by Chambers Ireland and sponsored by Zurich, recognise the outstanding work of chambers of commerce throughout the country in supporting local, regional and national business. They also provide an opportunity to share successful event ideas, campaigns and policies that have contributed to the development of chambers and business more broadly.
Drogheda & District Chamber was named the leading chamber in its category for its Tapit CashBack and Very Important Member Scheme.
This dynamic cashback strategy, which was founded by Garrett Gunn and Gavin Duffy, rewards businesses by driving loyalty, consumers with cashback for shopping locally, and chamber members by giving discounts for themselves and their employees.

Chief Executive of Chambers Ireland Ian Talbot said,
“Drogheda & District Chamber’s victory in the Best Membership Initiative category is richly deserved and I’m very pleased to congratulate them on their success. There were many close contests at the awards this year and Drogheda & District Chamber has demonstrated just how important fine margins can be.”
Director of Corporate Life and Pensions at Zurich Ireland, Joe Creegan said it is more important than ever to acknowledge the excellence of the Chamber network and the resilience of their members as they continue to support local economic development.
“We are proud to be associated with these awards and to support the important work Chambers undertakes in fostering a vibrant business community of all sizes and sectors across Ireland” he added.
Miriam Simon, Vice President, Drogheda & District Chamber said it is fantastic to see Drogheda-based businesses working together with new digital innovators, like Tapit, who are providing a whole new level of customer (and indeed membership) reward.
“This award is testament to great collaboration between local business, Tapit and Drogheda & District Chamber. Delighted and proud that we have been able to help accelerate this programme, supporting the Tapit journey, supporting local business, and supporting our members. Win win win” she said.
