DIFE’s first Science Week a great success

Drogheda Institute of Further Education hosted their first Science Week on Campus recently and it proved to be a great success.

The week kicked off with an informative talk from Guest speaker Damien Tackney, Compliance Manager at Ovelle Pharmaceuticals in Dundalk.

Other Guest speakers throughout the week included Professor of Immunology, Derek Doherty, Trinity College, about the research he does in the area of Immunology and Chelsea Cinnamon Senor Analytical Chemist at Northbrook Labourites Dife students learned a lot about her career in Northbrook.

The weeklong event also hosted several live outdoor Science Demonstrations, and the highlight of the week for many was a table quiz which was extremely competitive, and the winning duo Thomas Harford and Lou Shanley emerged victorious.

DIFE Science week was an amazing success. Thanks to all the guest speakers and teacher Claire Crossan and all involved in the Science Department in such a successful event whilst adhering to all Covid guidelines.
