Culture Night invites everyone everywhere, on one joyful night, to discover and celebrate all that our culture is today. This is a national moment connecting everyone to cultural activities locally and nationally and opening up pathways to ongoing engagement.
Here is just a selection of events across the county of Louth this year:
5.00pm – 8.30pm | Poetry SOS Clinic *Booking Required.
4.00pm – 8.00pm | Visual art on our Natural Heritage with artist Shauna Swords – participants can contribute to a collective collage that will be created throughout the evening. No booking required

6.00pm – 8.00pm | Music session with some of our librarians and local traditional musicians.
6.00pm - 9.00pm | From Open Mic Music Sessions, busking, art workshops and storytelling An Táin Arts centre have a range of activities to suit all ages. *Some events require booking.
7.00pm – 9.30pm | A night of creative expression where participants can contribute to a large scale collective piece. *Booking Required.
8.00pm – late | Get down to Mo Chara at 8pm to celebrate the local live music and art of Dundalk and have the craic while doing it!
8.00pm – late | A night of music featuring Traditional Irish Musicians Patsy Hanly, Tommy Guihan and Noel Battle. Ukrainian Musicians Valerii and Olena Supruniuk will also perform. *Booking is required.
4.00pm – 9.00pm | Visitors will have the opportunity to visit each artist’s workspace to see behind the scenes of a creative workspace. Taster workshops will be also be on offer. No Booking Required.
4.00pm – 6.00pm | Live music with Ardee Brass Band
6.00pm - 9.00pm | Droichead have live music in the centre, and there will also be a playing of a special podcast by women from Moneymore followed by a Q & A session. *Booking is required for some events
4.00pm - 6.00pm | This photographic exhibition consists of powerful images of the war in Ukraine as well as poignant portraits of displaced Ukrainian families living and settling in Ireland. Opening at 4 in Drogheda Library. No booking required.
6.00pm - 10.00pm | Exhibition of new work curated by Dorothy Smyth, with a tour, talks and open studios in their new surroundings in Fair St. Booking is required.
6.00pm - 11.00pm | There are a number of events across Drogheda with the inaugural Boyne Tradfest, launching on Culture Night, including live music sessions, singing sessions and recitals. Booking is required for some events.
4.00pm - 7.00pm | Come and enjoy a House Tour, walk through many grand rooms and marvel at the elegant staircase in the Rotunda, hear many interesting facts about the building of Townley Hall and its connections to the surrounding area. Booking required.
