Benedict Laighleis proudly shows off his certificate at the GAA Museum.
A first year student at St. Mary's Diocesan School was treated to a very special day out in GAA Headquarters in Croke Park on Tuesday in recognition of his writing skills.
Benedict Laighleis was selected as the runner up in the junior category of the GAA Museum’s national writing competition.
This was a much sought after competition and Benedict had to submit an essay capturing the theme, ‘the GAA is at the heart of who we are’.
On Tuesday of this week, Benedict attended a ceremony in Croke Park where he was presented with a certificate by the President of the GAA, John Horan.

Benedict was also brought on a tour of Croke Park and the museum. His prize pack also included tickets for the Croke Park skyline tour and a tasty lunch.
