Concentration, and perhaps a bit of stress, on the faces of gen Nash and his party workers as the results of the eighth count are announced.
The eighth count has just been announced and Fianna Fail candidate Declan Breathnach has shot up the rankings and is now top of the leader board to take seat three thanks to a whopping 2225 transfers from his party colleague James Byrne.
Ged Nash is just 24 votes behind on 8,389 and Peter Fitzpatrick is ten votes back on 8,379. Mark Dearey of the Greens also did well in this distribution receiving 242 leaving him on 7,917.
Drogheda Fine Gael TD Fergus O’Dowd received 505 votes on this round leaving him still in with a chance but he has to rely on a lot of his party colleague John McGahon's 4,783 transfers to remain in contention.
