Hall questions effectiveness of calming measures

Louth County Council is to carry out a traffic survey at Tullyallen following a request from Councillor Michelle hall at yesterday’s meeting of the Borough District of Drogheda.

Councillor Hall requested a traffic and speed survey to assess whether or not traffic calming measures which have been recently installed in the village were sufficient to reduce the high level of speeding violations which were at an astonishingly high 74 per cent.

She asked that the Council install more effective measures such as ramps, pedestrian crossings and driver feedback signs, especially at the approach to Tullyallen School, Watery Lane and the Shops on Main Street.

Councillor Hall told the members that she had invited the Tullyallen Road Safety Group to attend the next Borough District meeting to outline their concerns to the members.
