Louth Volunteer Centre is asking people to complete a survey about volunteering in County Louth which is online now at volunteerlouth.ie .Those that do will be in with a chance to win a €100 One for All voucher.

The County Louth Volunteering Framework, published in 2021, was informed by an in-depth consultation process involving over 350 people across Louth. This framework document is the first of its kind at County level in Ireland and will help shape policy and resources in relation to volunteering in County Louth in the coming years.

As part of the work being carried out by the implementation group for the framework, Louth Volunteer Centre has commissioned a piece of research to be carried out focusing on the volunteer activity currently happening in Louth. The survey looks at recruitment of volunteers, barriers volunteers may face and supports that can help people get involved in volunteering.

Chair of the Board of Louth Volunteer Centre Richard Hanlon, said: “Across County Louth, volunteering plays an important part in active citizenship, strengthening our local communities through connection of friendship, often making a real difference in other people's lives. This research survey will be hugely beneficial in gathering feedback that will facilitate the work of Louth Volunteer Centre in supporting volunteer organisations and those who want to make a difference in their community through volunteering.”

Interim Manager Olivia Conlon added: “We are very excited in Louth Volunteer Centre to be able to carry out this piece of research. It is a fantastic opportunity for us to get a better understanding of volunteering in Louth, particularly the barriers faced by people when it comes to getting involved in volunteering and what supports Louth Volunteer Centre can put in place to support local volunteer-involving organisations and people interested in volunteering to get involved.”
