Clogherhead Lifeboat was launched at 4:05pm yesterday afternoon, Sunday 7th August, following a report from the Irish Coast Guard that a fishing vessel was taking on water five miles East of Drogheda Bar.
The Lifeboat proceeded to the scene at full speed and having established that the situation aboard the casualty vessel was stabilised it was agreed with the Skipper that the vessel should be towed to Port Oriel.
The casualty vessel, which normally operates from Balbriggan Port, was taken safely to Clogherhead and tied up at the pier at 5:45 pm approximately.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
Clogherhead Lifeboat comes to the assistance of the stricken trawler.
