The dreadful road surface at one of Drogheda's most dangerous junctions.
Independent Councillor Kevin Callan has called on Louth County Council to finish the repair works they started some time ago at the dangerous junction at the Rathmullan Road and the Bridge of Peace.
“This issue has been going on for years” Councillor Callan said.
“Recently the road surface at the junction was in terrible condition for cars coming up onto the dual carriageway from the Rathmullan Road.
“Works have been done on that section but the section of road where cars turn into the middle of the dual carriageway to get onto the Rathmullan Road is in bits and has not been repaired.

“I am calling on the Council to finish the job started and make this section safe, the road surface presents a risk of cars tearing tyres, swirling to avoid hitting and also a risk to pedestrians.
Councillor Callan also highlighted the fact that the yellow box and kerb marking are all worn out and are hardly visible.
“The road marking budget was used up last year and I fail to see why this junction did not get priority, especially based on the number of road collisions at the spot.”
