Local TD, Fergus O’Dowd, has received confirmation from his colleague Minister Heather Humphreys that €45k has been approved for the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service to purchase a new vehicle for their vital frontline service.
“My colleague Minister Humphreys has made the announcement as part of a €1.62 million tranche under Measure 2 of the CLÁR Programme which will support the purchase of a record 32 vehicles nationally.
O’Dowd said “I’m delighted for the entire team as a new state of the art vehicle will greatly assist the Boyne Fisherman providing frontline and community services.
“I want to sincerely thank all of the volunteers in the service who in many cases put themselves in very high risk situations to provide 24 hour emergency rescue services.”
