Mayor Frank Godfrey joins representatives of the Drogheda IWA at the launch of the Angel fundraising campaign.

The Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) launched its National Angel Campaign in Drogheda yesterday.

IWA provides essential services locally from its Day Centre in Unit 7 Mayoralty Street, Drogheda supporting local people with physical and/or sensory disabilities on a weekly basis and is asking the local community to get behind their fundraising efforts.

Youth groups, organisations, businesses, schools and colleges are being asked to volunteer their time to sell Angels products or to host an Angel event.

All funds raised during the Angels Campaign will be invested into the range of services IWA provides locally.

During the month of November and specifically across the two collection days (Thursday 8th and Friday 9th November) local volunteers are required to sell a selection of Angel products which include Angel Pins, Children’s Fun Packs and Angels Christmas Baubles.

“The Angels campaign which continues for the month of November will see hundreds of volunteers selling Angels products nationwide to raise funds for the range of services supports and sports programme that IWA provides to people with disabilities in towns and communities throughout Ireland” spokesperson Claire Mc Loughlin said.

“IWA is hoping that the local community will support our fundraising efforts this November by volunteering some time during the two national collection days. We are looking for volunteers to assist us with collections.

“There are many ways that you can assist with the Angels Campaign.  IWA and their Fundraising Team will be supporting businesses, colleges, schools and other local organisations with Angel’s events, raffles and bake sales. ”

If you would like to support the Angels Campaign by volunteering your time or to arrange an event please contact Claire Mc Loughlin on 041 9846614 or email Claire.mcloughlin@iwa.ie
