Members of An Garda Síochána attached to the Garda Armed Support unit intercepted an attempted ATM Theft on Dunleer Main Street at approximately 4.30am this morning, 15th January.
The attempted theft comes just two months after thieves made off with an ATM by ripping it out of the wall of the Bank of Ireland on November 16 last year.
Gardaí were patrolling the area at the time and managed to intercept the attempted theft.
A pursuit ensued and the culprits managed to make their way over the border.

The PSNI are assisting An Garda Síochána in their searches. No injuries have been reported.
Investigations are ongoing.
