The first SSE Youth Recognition Awards took place on Thursday April 11th in Sage and Stone Duleek.

There were six finalists across the three categories; Learning Success, Community Contribution and Personal Achievement.

The finalists were from Bellewstown National School, Donore National School, St. Mary’s Diocesan School and Duleek/Bellewstown Ladies’ Gaelic Club.

The April winner was Calum Agnew, a Duleek resident and Transition Year student in St. Mary’s Diocesan School.

Calum was involved in his school’s “Music and Memory” programme in Tredagh Lodge Nursing Home in which the students visited the Alzheimer's Society Day Care Centre twice a week, got to know the elderly clients there and made up personalised playlists to eventually gift personalised MP3 Players to them.

Calum is talented musician and a hard-working student. He was nominated by his teacher, Ms. Curtis.
