Alma Jordan who has been nominated for an Irish Red Cross Humanitarian Award.
The plaudits just keep on coming for Julianstown woman Alma Jordan who, it was announced today, has been nominated for an Irish Red Cross Humanitarian Award thanks to her innovative farm safety platform for children.
Agrikids.ie has been nominated for the new Digital Influence category at the annual Irish Red Cross Humanitarian Awards. The award recognises the changing face of humanitarian work and the ways in which the world online can contribute to humanitarian causes.
Alma set up Agrikids.ie in 2014 during Ireland’s worst ever year on record for farm safety. Alma decided there needed to be a new approach to farm safety awareness. Her platform aims to engage, educate and empower children to be farm safety ambassadors.
Since than AgriKids has developed classroom resources, storybooks and a gaming app to educate children about farm safety and also offers webinars with handy farm safety tips for young kids.

The awards seek to recognise those who have had a humanitarian impact on the lives of others through volunteering, skill sharing, storytelling, or fundraising and will highlight the efforts of those who have given a voice to humanitarian issues.
