Members of the Drogheda Brass Band receive the applause of the audience after their performance in Ennis.
Drogheda Brass Band will hold its annual Christmas concert on Wednesday 11th December in the Barbican Centre.
2024 has been a very busy and successful year for the band of which one of the highlights included a record equalling 15th National Brass Band Championships win in April.
The band recently travelled to Ennis to perform in a joint concert with the fantastic Ennis Brass Band.
A representative from the band said: “As we came out of the summer gig season, we found ourselves with a gap in our calendar.

“We reached out to some bands across Ireland to see could we travel to one of them for a joint concert and that is where the link with Ennis came in.
“We had a fantastic weekend with both bands on top form, but, most importantly, we made lots of new friends. Watch this space for the return leg in Drogheda.”
This year, the Christmas concert will be a real celebration of youth, with the band’s younger members taking centre stage performing in the senior band and as part of a school of music showcase.
The band is also delighted to welcome the brilliant Scoil Aonghusa Choir, which will perform with the band.
The band’s musical director Stephen Murray commented: “It is great to be in a position to give these kids a platform to perform music. This year’s event really does have a theme of youth and we are excited to showcase all the hard work that they have done throughout the past year.”
The concert will start at 7.30pm and tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite https://bit.ly/dbbchristmas24.
