Daniel Hanley won a silver medal for his school St Mary's Diocesan in the 1k minor’s race in a very close battle with fellow Louth athlete Evan Costello which ended in a sprint finish with positions decided on the line.
Tadgh Forde Dunne ran a great race, too, with Luca Mc Loughlin finishing just behind. St Mary's also won team Gold.
Silver too for Naiya Semple in the minor girls 700m race. She showed great strength throughout to win silver for Drogheda Grammar school.

It was Gold for Rhys Clarke and St Mary's DS in the Inter boy’s race. He was composed throughout and won the race quite easily in the end. Also competing in the same race for St Joseph's were Christian Kelly, Karol Connor, and Finn Nugent.
It was also a great day for the Sacred Heart Girls with Isabella Garcia winning Gold in the inter race and Chloe Hanley winning silver. Allie also won gold in the senior race.
Seamie Sheridan finished a very impressive 5th place for his school in the primary school races. Charlotte Halligan ran very well for her school Greenhills in the minor girls race also.
Attention now moves to the weekend when several Ace athletes will travel to Kilkenny for the All-Ireland Finals. We wish them the best of luck.
