It was a phenomenal weekend for Boyne AC, as athletes of all ages brought passion, power, and podium finishes across two counties. From the Leinster U20, Senior & Masters Championships in Carlow to the Community Games in Louth, Boyne’s green and gold were everywhere, backed by hard work, heart, and a deep club spirit.

Amy McTeggart kicked off Day one at SETU Carlow Sports Campus by leaping 5.55m to take silver in the Long Jump. She followed it up later with a brilliant bronze in the Javelin, showing her versatility and drive.

Meanwhile, 15-year-old Evan Gamble proved fearless in the U20 400m, clocking a season best of 54.75 in a confident, controlled run. Fellow 15-year-old Ryan McMahon lit up the U20 100m, flying through the heats before storming to a new personal best of 11.30 in the final, a standout performance from a serious young talent.

Louth’s fastest man, Sean Stratton, lived up to the hype across both days. He ran a season best 11.02 in the U23 100m final, narrowly missing the podium, and returned on Day 2 for the Senior 200m, where he delivered again with 22.73, another season best and another razor-close finish. Leon King Abor also showed strong promise, fighting back from a tough start in the 100m to post 11.60 with raw power and potential.

At the heart of it all, Coach Keith and his daughter Lucia embodied the Boyne spirit leading the juvenile squad in Louth before heading straight to Carlow to support the seniors. Their presence and energy across both venues was felt.

Back in Louth, the juveniles lit up the Community Games. Ruby Winters kicked things off with bronze in the U10 Hurdles. Conor Hughes powered to gold in the U10 100m, followed closely by Folasade Chloe Bello Osagie with a silver in the girls race.

Stella Gow added another silver in the 200m with a brilliant finish and Caithlin Hughes took home a bronze medal in the U12 200m.

The middle distances brought more glory for Boyne AC, with Eoin McEntee taking gold in the U14 800m. In the same event, Isabelle Winters ran a composed race to finish fourth, a nice result ahead of the Leinster Championships this Saturday, where she'll join a strong Boyne AC squad aiming to impress again on the provincial stage. Shauna Rice dominated the U16 1500m to claim gold, while Seamus Keenan pushed hard to take bronze in a strong race.

It was a weekend full of grit, growth, and gold. From the youngest hurdlers to our seasoned sprinters, Boyne AC proved once again that hard work pays off and that this club’s future is as bright as ever.
