Among the Community Recognition Fund allocations for Meath, announced yesterday are €100,020 for Gormanston Pedestrian Infrastructure Upgrade, €100,005 for Coláiste na HInse, €55,127 for Duleek Development Association and €56,416 for Cultúr Migrants Centre.
Announcing the funding, which amounts to €16.5 million nationwide, Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, said, “This major investment, under the Community Recognition Fund, will support the upgrade of sports facilities, community centres, walking trails, parks, playgrounds and so much more.
“All the projects being funded today are designed to bring communities together and make them more vibrant places to live, work and visit. I look forward to seeing the positive impact that this funding will have on the ground in communities all across Ireland.”
Meath County Council Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Sharon Tolan said, “The Community Recognition Fund was first introduced last year to recognise the huge efforts made by communities in welcoming and supporting people coming to Ireland.

“This funding recognises the efforts and the generosity that so many Meath communities continue to show. Meath County Council will work in collaboration with these local communities to develop these projects that will deliver long term benefits to those living in Bettystown, Navan, Duleek and Gormanston. Well done to all involved”.

€55,127 Meath Bettystown Colaiste Na Inse Outdoor Recreational Upgrades - Redevelopment of Basketball area including new poles, resurfacing of courts with courts for basketball, tennis and volleyball €100,005.
There were no projects in County Louth mentioned in the announcement.
