Additional government funding of €200,000 per year, for a period of 3 years, is to be allocated to sports organisations in the Drogheda region in support of the Drogheda Report Implementation Plan.

It is expected that this funding allocation, which will be provided via Sport Ireland, will be used to employ three additional staff to support the work of Louth Local Sport Partnership (“Louth LSP”) and Meath Local Sport Partnership (“Meath LSP”).

Announcing the additional funding today, Minister of State for Sport, Physical Education and the Gaeltacht, Thomas Byrne, TD said:

“With the rapid increase in population that we are seeing in the Drogheda region and the number of actively engaged sports clubs and organisations, I expect that this additional sport funding allocation will deliver positive and sustainable change for the Drogheda region over the next three-year period.
