The huge haul of cannabis that was seized yesterday.
A combined operation between Gardaí and customs officers targeting an organised crime group operating in the Meath and Dublin areas has resulted in the seizure of cannabis herb and resin worth an estimated of €1.63 million.
The operation was conducted by personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue Customs Service yesterday, 6th January 2022
During the course of this operation a vehicle was stopped and searched in the Clondalkin area of Dublin.
Th search revealed 155 kilograms of cannabis resin and 35 kilograms of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €1,630,000 (€1.63 Million) which was seized by Revenue Officers.

Gardaí arrested a 33 year-old man who was at the scene. He is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
