129 postcards sent to Louth TDs calling for investment in young people

Front Page

As part of a campaign by the National Youth Council of Ireland, 129 Louth constituents have sent postcards to the County’s five TDs calling for investment in young people and youth work.

Altogether some 4,891 people have signed 156 postcards to TDs in every constituency across Ireland, calling for a much-needed €15 million investment in youth work in Budget 2025.

This support will help to raise awareness and build the momentum needed to ensure that young people and youth work get the attention and investment they deserve.

The Postcards, which were sent to Deputy Ruairí Ó Murchú, Deputy Peter Fitzpatrick, Deputy Imelda Munster, Deputy Gerald Nash, and Deputy Fergus O'Dowd, read as follows:

We’re your constituents, and we’ve signed this postcard to ask you to take a stand for young people in Louth and beyond. We are lucky to have a growing youth population. By 2025 there will be over 1 million under-25s in Ireland, but they need meaningful support.

Please take whatever action that you can to make sure young people are supported in Budget 2025 with an investment of an additional €15 million in youth work. Your representation could make all the difference.

Sincerely, your constituents.
