Registration has opened for the 2021 Intel Mini Scientist competition which is a science competition for primary school students in 4th, 5th and 6th class and is open to all schools across Ireland.

Taking part in the Intel Mini Scientist involves creating a science and / or technology project which can be based on the Primary Science Curriculum or any area which is of interest to the participating students.

This year, students will be invited to create science projects, either as an individual or in a team of up to four members, with the project being presented in the form of a workbook.

Each school that participates will select a winning project to go forward to a virtual judging process. The selected projects will then be reviewed by a panel of judges which will include Intel employees, and a number of winners will be selected.

The winning projects will be invited to participate in a virtual awards ceremony later this year where the overall grand prize will be awarded.

There are a number of fantastic prizes available to participating schools. Every school taking part will receive a special commemorative plaque and all students taking part will be given a certificate of participation .

There is a €1000 monetary grant for the school which has the overall grand final winning project.

Registration closes on 24th September 2021 and students will have from September 27th to  October 29th 2021 to create their projects and each school selects their winning project.

Schools are sked to submit their winning project to Intel during the week of 1st – 8th November after which the judging process will commence in readiness for the announcement of winners at a virtual award ceremony in Early December.

The Mini Scientist competition is open to schools all across Ireland and there is no minimum number of students required for a school to participate.
