A great start to the new Macra year for Termonfeckin

The Termonfeckin Macra Bowling team: Back row (L-R) James Healy National president of Macra, Marita Bayly, James Reilly and Nigel Corcoran. Front row: Helena Reynolds, Sinead Mathews and Kevin Reynolds.

Termonfeckin Macra club had their first club meeting of the new Macra year on Wednesday 27th of September in Sandpit Hall. Plenty was discussed and tea and biscuits and chats were had.

Following on from the week the weekend was a busy for the club. On Friday 29th of September the men GAA players took part in the county round against Tullyallen Macra and Togher Macra unfortunately Termonfeckin Macra's football skills didn't come out on top to proceed to the next round.

However the next two days the club represented the county in the National Final of Question Time quiz and National Final of Bowling both in AlSAA in Dublin. On the Saturday night at the Question time team our club members were narrowly defeated by one point and took home second place in the National Final.

The club congratulate the team Mark Mc Quillan, Helena Reynolds, Mary Marry and Eamonn Mc Quillan on coming runner up. The winning team on the night was Treble R from Dublin.

Early Sunday morning the bowling team headed off for Dublin to compete in the National Bowling Final. The team consists of Nigel Corcoran, James Reilly, Kevin Stapleton, Marita Bayly, Helena Reynolds and Sinead Mathews. Unfortunately the team didn't strike their way to the top.

Next up in the Macra calendar is public speaking and teams are busily preparing for the county round later this month also the National conference this year is being hosted by Meath Macra in the city north so we will be heading to that over the bank holiday weekend.

If interested in joining Termonfeckin Macra like our Facebook page Macra Tearmann Feichin, come along to our next meeting or contact Nigel on 087 718 9965.
